Allen Booker has 30-years of college planning experience. Mr. Booker has helped hundreds of students and their families in navigating through the difficult and often times confusing steps in the college planning process. He has mentored and advised students throughout New York State beyond in completing college applications. Mr. Booker’s extensive professional college planning background includes both the public and private sectors. He was employed as an Admissions Counselor at Niagara County Community College and Alfred State College. He also served as the Assistant Director of International Admission at Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, Georgia. He was an Academic Counselor for the Upward Bound Program at the University at Buffalo. Continuing his professional tenure, he served in the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) as a Counselor at Buffalo State College. Mr. Booker continues to work closely with school districts to facilitate numerous college planning workshops for high school students and extended day youth programs.
Allen stays on the forefront of current and innovative trends in college admissions and education. He regularly attends professional development workshops and conferences, which in turn help his clients in their college planning quest. His personable and easy-going approach to college planning has attracted many students and families to utilize his services resulting in 98% of his students getting accepted to one or more of their top 3 schools.
Allen received his master’s degree in Student Personal Administration from Buffalo State College. He also holds a B.A. in English from SUNY Fredonia, as well as, certificates in a variety of subject areas ranging from education to diversity and leadership and community capacity building. Allen is also a 2008 graduate of Leadership Niagara.
Born and raised in Niagara Falls, NY, Allen has always desired to give back to his community. He currently serves on a number of Western New York community boards and committees that focus on improving underlying social and economic inequities.
