Frequently Asked Questions

Booker College Planning is committed to helping students and families from all social-economic backgrounds regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation and gender identity. Our personable and easy-going approach has attracted many students, families, and educators to our services.

According to the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA), for families considering college, the main reason to hire an independent educational consultant is individualized attention. Most public-school guidance counselors would like to assist students individually with the college process but they have too many students to offer much in the way of individual attention. Independent consultants can take much of the stress out of the process and be an objective, third-party, helping a family through the process of transitioning from high school and living at home to going off to college and living away from home.

Booker College Planning is a well-established and highly respected Western New York consulting business. Since 2007, we have made a positive impact on hundreds of students—and the local community. Our consultants are well trained and attend professional development workshops, which help our clients in their college planning journey.

Booker College Planning provides students and parents with personalized guidance from the early stage of college planning through the application process—i.e., postsecondary education goals, assessment of academic record, college and career advisement, college search and selection, college essay development and review, brag sheet, college visitation preparation (in-person and virtually), review standardized testing schedule, application preparation, financial aid and scholarship guidance, and more.
